Values: As guiding principles for the culture and behaviour at Frost International Limited, the Spirit of Frost binds us together and inspires us to achieve excellence in all that we do. These guiding values of Frost International are: Intensity to win Act with sensitivity Unyielding integrity How It All Began Frost International has its roots in the friendship of its three Founder Directors that started even before their tenure together during graduate school. Bringing together their skills, experiences and values, Frost International had its humble beginnings in trade with the Russian Federation at a time when the World was witnessing a change in the rankings of World Powers. After graduating, each of the three friends pursued his individual career, with one joining the ancestral business, the other opting to pursue an MBA degree, and the third moving on to a long career with various pharmaceutical companies. Over time, the associations of friendship grew to encompass business opportunities in the trade of dyes and chemicals, and later in indirect exports via supplies to a third party aggregator of export requirements. Frost International Limited's very first direct order for export came from the Russian Federation, owing to the expertise of two of the directors in the business and the third director's in-depth expertise in the pharmaceuticals business, enabled by the strong relationships forged with the third party aggregator. After that first order of $10,000 in 1990, the company spent a substantial amount of time exporting pharmaceutical products, later growing the portfolio to include surgical and other items. The Journey So Far Trade with customers from the Russian Federation lasted for a long time, with direct relationships fructifying into very large orders such as that of tea sourced from Calcutta that had to be shipped, in accordance with RBI guidelines in force at the time, within 180 days of receiving an advance from the Russian People from the Rupee Escrow account. The expert management of finances and strong relationships with banks at this stage saw the company grow from strength to strength, ploughing back and employing resources into other trades and increasing its base. As one door closes, another opens. Even as trade with the Russian Federation started to dwindle on account of adverse economic conditions, trade with China started to grow. Imports from China grew to include fabric, silk yarn and other items, while exports to China included iron ore shipments that were so large that they mandated the setting up of a chartering desk where Frost International Limited could have direct control over shipments. In tandem with funding limits from the bankers coming through at the opportune time, Frost International posted exponential growth over the years. Today, Frost International Limited is known for its strong delivery capability in both the domestic and international markets, appreciated by partners and customers that include some of the world's major trading companies to whom Frost International Limited supplies to and exports a range of commodities.
