Alloy 600 Round Bars is a nickel-base alloy by means of having good carburization, and excellent oxidation resistance at high temperatures. UNS N06600 Round Bars has useful resistance to dry Cl2 and HCl gases at temperately raised temperatures. WNR 2.4816 Round Bars is not suggested for use at red heat when sulfur is present due to elevated nickel quantities.

However, when sulfur compounds are present as well, or for ammonium hydroxide service, Alloy 600 Bars is suggested. These bars are subject to stress corrosion cracking in hot, concentrated caustic alkalies.
